La Guerrière d’Athéna
Custom Couture Gown for Leah Jeffries
We created 'La Guerrière d’Athéna' for Leah Jeffries to wear at the premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3.
The dress began with Athene Noctua, Athena’s Little Owl. It was a natural reference for Leah, who plays the goddess’s daughter, but we wanted to suggest the owl rather than reproduce it. The bird's shape, texture and movement defined the silhouette and the feather work throughout the gown.
The creative director of the house, Victoria DuCharme, designed the piece, while Filip Bejek constructed it. The plumage was made entirely by hand from linen with the help of Diana Kolesar and the head of our studio, Ulyana Egorova. Thousands of feathers were individually cut out, stitched, frayed by hand and embroidered one by one, taking nearly 400 hours of manual work.
