Custom Couture Gown for Leah Sava Jeffries

DuCharme made 'La Guerrière d’Athéna' gown with our favorite demigod in mind, Leah Sava Jeffries. Ms. Jeffries portrays the onscreen daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase, in the Disney+ television series 'Percy Jackson & the Olympians'.

The gown heavily references Athena's own symbol, the Athene Noctua (the little owl). The bird's shape, texture and movement defined the silhouette and the feather work throughout the gown.

This gown is a bespoke piece that has felt the hands of over eight artisans from all over the globe including, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia and the United States. The creative director of the house, Victoria DuCharme, designed the piece and was responsible for the hand embroidery for the corset and for much of the skirt, with Eliana Kertzner & Filip Bejek responsible for the incredible pattern-making and construction of the corset and skirt respectively.

'La Guerrière d’Athéna' features hand-made feathers constructed out of cotton and linen fabric. Each feather takes at least twenty-five minutes to cut, sew, fray, brush out, arrange and embroider, adding up to over 400 hours of manual work. Many artisans helped with the feathers but most notably, Ulyana Egorova and Diana Kolesar.
